In general my wife and I were quite pleased with this campground. It is in an excellent location with spectacular views. The sites however are quite small and "there isn't a level site in the place" to quote the gentleman who escorted us to our site. We arrived after dark so this service was much appreciated. We found all of the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The Sunday morning pancake breakfast was very nice, allowing us a chance to meet and chat with other campers. The rates are high but this seems to be a KOA feature.
Has all the KOA amenities, however the sites are a little tight. Very close to a busy highway that seems to be a favourite of heavy trucks with resultant noise. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Our only real complaint with this campground was the typical KOA overpricing. In particular the cable TV charge of $3.00 a night is unjustified.
Our first impression of this campground was that it could use a little TLC. A coat of paint here and there would do wonders for this place. The abandoned motorhome next to the entrance gate should be moved elsewhere. It seems the owners just don't care. The campground is very close to the Interstate with the resulting traffic noise. We will be passing by this one next time.
A very nice campground with all the amenities one would expect. It caters mostly to seasonal campers who obviously enjoy settling here as the majority have dressed up their sites with fences, potted plants, patio lights etc. Minimal number of sites are set aside for overnighters. Staff was friendly and efficient. Would recommend to anyone passing through.
A nice campground although somewhat off the beaten track for overnighters. Lots of activities for kids. This park has recently undergone a change of ownership and the new ones are very eager to please, although the young lady at the desk should learn to smile once in a while. The sites were well laid out with easy access. The only downside to our visit was due to a quirk of nature. This park is in a heavily wooded area full of pine trees which at this time of the year are shedding their needles which get into everything. I would stay here again.
The location of this park is suitable for anyone wishing to spend a few days in the area to see the sights. But be prepared for some challenges. Whoever designed this park didn't have a clue. The sites are jammed together, most of which are not close to being level. The hook-ups, water, power and sewer connections are placed such that those for 4 sites are grouped together. Extensions for power cord, and or water hose and or sewer hose will be required in order to complete all connections. Campers are allowed to select their own sites, thankfully. Staff somewhat indifferent. The young lady at check in stated "Drive in and look around and if you don't like it, leave and go somewhere else." Not recommended.
Great location in a nice area. Lots to see and do. We arrived here after a heavy rain and the dirt and gravel roads turned into a messy, muddy bog. Some attention to drainage is needed here. The owner however is making improvements as evidenced by some attractive landscaping around most of the campsites. I was somewhat ticked off by the fact I was unable to use my debit card. The owner nade some excuse that KOA being an American company were unable to sort out their banking tranzactions in Canada. Nonsense of course, there are many KOA's in Canada where debit cards can be used. He does, however, have an ATM in his lounge area. Enough said.
